Race to the Movies

From now until October 31, 2008 you can earn free movie tickets by collecting codes off many products you probably already buy. It’s a program through General Mills and Publix. Look for specially marked General Mills products—things like cereal. Collect the codes, enter them into your account on the website and once you’ve gathered ten, you’ll get two free movie tickets.

Many libraries have online catalogs that allow you to search through collections without leaving your home. Simply put an electronic hold on the movies you want and have them sent to the library branch closest to you. Your library will give you a notice when your movies are ready to be picked up and checked out. Simply watch them and make sure they are returned in time to avoid a penalty. But even a library charge won’t come close to paying the late fees that some video stores apply.
