Looking to save more money on your grocery bill? Try increasing your bounty of coupons by trading. There are plenty of online resources for turning coupons you don’t want into coupons you do want. Getting started is pretty easy. Here are a few tips to get going on the world of coupon trading.
Clip and Save: Clip all of the coupons you can. Beef up your supply, especially of the coupons you are willing to trade. Don’t have any children? Clip all of the coupons dealing with baby items and diapers so that someone else can benefit. On a diet? Set aside the coupons for cake mixes and sweets to satisfy someone else’s sweet tooth.
Search Coupon Trading Boards: There are lots of them. Some of the most popular sites include Coupon Forum, Frugal Village and Coupon Chix. Most of them require you to register first.
Start Posting: Post the coupons you wish to trade. Be specific and include the discount amount, brand name and expiration date.
Review Often: Check forums regularly for the best chances of getting what you are looking for.
Trade Only: Remember, these sites are for trading, not selling. Don’t try to sell them. Instead list what you are looking for whether it is yogurt, cereal or bread coupons.
Respond Quickly: When you receive a response from someone regarding the trade you are looking for, respond quickly. Be polite.
Mail Soon: When you reach an agreement mail your coupons right away. This is important because expiration dates can come quickly and your trade partner will appreciate having the most time possible to cash in your coupons. Make sure you put enough postage on the envelope.
